Mesopotamia Journal of Agriculture (MJA) is a national, open access, peer-reviewed, scholarly publication aiming to promote scientific Agriculture sciences and presented to researchers and academic students of Agricultural Sciences. MJA was issued for the first time in 1966 and published as one issue per year, in 2000 it was adopted as a national journal; in 2005, the journal published four issues per year (in a quarterly manner). The University of Mosul, the publisher of MJA, Mesopotamia Journal of Agriculture, is published on behalf of the College of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Mosul (institutional society). MJA adopted a unique DOI number  [10.33899/magrj] obtained for each article published since 2005 until now.

The MJA uses a double-blind peer-reviewing system to ensure the quality of the publication. All manuscripts should be submitted through our online manuscript management system. The author should first register in our system and then submit their manuscript. We will use iThenticate to check plagiarism before sending it to reviewers, who should be under 20%. We will notify corresponding authors about their manuscripts through our online system within one to two months.

Mesopotamia Journal of Agriculture publishes original research papers, review papers, and case reports. MJA is an open access Journal; the publication is dedicated to bringing together intellectual and professional scientists and the public sectors engaged in efforts to understand the Agricultural and veterinary fields.

MJA publishes open-access articles, which means that all articles are available on the internet to all users immediately upon publication. All articles published in the MJA are fully open-access access; and immediately freely available to read, download, and share. Articles published in the MJA are under the terms of a Creative Commons license 4.0 (CC-By), which permits users to read, print and download, or redistribute, translate the article, download for text and data mining purposes, reuse portions or extracts from the article in other works. The MJA is committed to upholding Publication Ethics (COPE) and obligates the authors to avoid plagiarism and illegal citation.

As an open-access journal, publishing an article in this journal requires an Article Processing Charge (APC) that will be billed to the submitting author following acceptance. There are no other fees (for example, submission, page, or color charges). The Article Processing Charge for the journal is 100 US$ for international authors and 150.000 ID for Iraqi authors inside Iraq. 

 

The MJA stopped reviewing and publishing articles from 2014 (stopped after publishing volume 42, issue 1, year 2014) to 2017 (reactivated from volume 45, issue 2, the year 2018) during ISIS occupying Mosul city for three years after the military liberation operation conducted by Iraqi forces to liberate Mosul city the MJA start receiving and publishing article start since 2018.

 

Previously, the journal published articles in both Arabic and English, but in 2019, the publishing was turned to the English language only with Arabic abstracts.
