FERTILIZER, MAGNETIC WATER AND HUMIC ACID ON THE GROWTH, PHOTOSYNTHESIS PIGMENTS AND OIL YIELD COMPONENTS OF Nigella sativa PLANT

Pots experiment was carried out in the greenhouse of Horticulture Department College of Agriculture Engineering Sciences/ University of Duhok to investigate the influence of three levels of P2O5 fertilizer (0, 260 and 520 mg ) per pot , humic acid at (0, 0.6 and 0.8 mg.L-1) and magnetic water with three group, group (1) irrigated with tap water, group (2) irrigated with magnetized water remain in the container for 12 hours and group (3) irrigated with magnetized water remain in the container for 24 hours on the growth and oil yield of Black cumin Nigella sativa L. The experimental treatments consisted of five replications in Random Complete Block Design (RCBD). The results revealed that P2O5 fertilizer at 520 mg.pot-1 significantly increased all the studied characteristics. Humic acid at 0.6 and 0.8 mg.L-1 had no significant effect on most of the studied characteristics except total chlorophyll and volatile oil. The group of plants that irrigated with magnetic water for 24 h caused significant increasing in all studied characteristics. Double and triple interactions among studies factors showed significant influence on all the studied characteristics as compared to untreated plants including (plant height, number of branches per plant, stem diameter, number of capsule/plant, dry weight, total chlorophyll, fixed oil percentage, volatile oil percentage and total carbohydrates percentage).

EFFECT OF ORGANIC FERTILIZER POW HUMUS AND TWO SEAWEED EXTRACTS HYPRA TONIC AND ALGA 300 ON GROWTH OF Pinus brutia Ten. AND Pinus pinea L. SEEDLINGS

This study was carried out in forest department nursery \ college of agriculture and forestry, Mosul university, at spring season 2012. The aim of this research to study the effect of organic fertilizer Pow humus and two seaweed extracts Hypra tonic and Alga 300 on growth and development Pinus brutia Ten. and Pinus pinea L. seedlings. Pinus brutia was superior in most vegetative and root parameter length and diameter of stem, number of branchs and root length as compared with Pinus pinea except in shoot to root ratio only. Application of Pow humus matter gave a significant increases higher in stem length, number of branchs and root length . Adding Hypra tonic matter resulted in a significant increase higher in stem diameter, while foliar spraying of Alga 300 matter gave a significant increase higher in shoots to roots ratio. Low concentration was superior in most vegetative and root parameter as compared with high concentration. The tri-interaction (Pinus brutia, Pow humus and low concentration) gave a significant increase higher in stem length, number of branchs and root length, while (Pinus brutia, Alga 300 ana high concentration) recorded a significant increase higher in stem diameter, the interaction (Pinus pinea, Alga 300 and low concentration) gave a significant increase higher in shoots to roots ratio.

EFFECT OF HUMIC ACID AND PACLOBUTRAZOL ON FLOWERING THREE CULTIVARS OF Gerbera jamesonii Bolus ex. Hook.

This experiment was conducted in plastic house of Hort. and Land scape Dept. College of Agric. and Forestry. at the period from December 2011 to  July 2012. to evaluate three cultivar response of Gerbera jamesonii i.e Dameblanche (white flower). Laurance (yellow flower) and Arrow (red flower). to soil treatment with humic acid at: 0 and 120 mg/ m2 and three concentrations of Paclobutrazol i.e. 0. 60 and 120 mg/ L by spraying on vegetative growth. The factorial experiment conducted by using split-split plot within Randomized Complete Block Design with three replicate and 15 plants for treatment. The data showed: At the end of the experiment. red cultivar gave best results of number of inflorescences 7.49 inflorescences/plant. vase life 15.00 days compared with the other cultivars studied. While largest values of inflorescence diameter 93.81mm. scape length 50.85 cm. scape  diameter  6.51 mm were found yellow cultivar  plants. The white cultivars record the lowest value for total inflorescence number. inflorescence diameter. length of scape  and vase life. Treatment with paclobutrazol caused a significant decrease in inflorescence diameter. scape length. but didn’t affect on vase life. In general. red flower cultivar plants which not treated with humic acid interact with paclobutrazol treatment at 120 mg/ L gave higher number of inflorescence/ plant. inflorescence diameter. scape  diameter. vase life which increased to 16.00 days.

EFFECT OF HUMIC ACID AND TRANSPLANTING CONTAINER SIZE ON GROWTH, QUANTITY AND QUALITY YIELD OF PLANT CABBAGE

The experiment was carried out at the field of During the growing season of 2010 – 2011. The aim was to study the effect of humic acid with threes concentration (0, 2.5 and 5 ml/litter) and two transplanting container size (7 , 10 cm) and the interaction treatments growth , quantity and quality yield of cabbage, The experiment design was arranged according to R.C.B.D with three replicates The results showed that adding humic acid with 5 ml/Litter caused significant increase in the growth parameters (the number of external leaves,chlorophyll percentage , leaf area , the Fresh weight for external and internal leaf , the percentage of dry matter for internal leaves). Meanwhile the big size of transplanting container caused a significant increase in the percentage of dry matter in the external leaves. The interaction treatment between the addition of humic acid with 5 ml/Litter and the big transplanting container size caused the best growth in the leaves , roots and added the highest production 34.23 T/hea.
